Privacy Policy

The short version: Haywire Tractor collects as little data as we can get away with. The longer version follows, because lawyers exist.
Haywire Tractor is operated by Ghumdul Limited, a limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17408766), which is the data controller for the information described below.
1. Data Stored on Your Device
Your game progress — best distances, unlocked tractors, coins, settings — is stored locally on your device. It never leaves your device unless you choose to share a score (see below). Clearing the app's data or uninstalling removes it permanently; we can't restore it, because we never had it.
2. Leaderboard Submissions
If you choose to share a score, we store:
- The nickname you enter (publicly visible on the leaderboard)
- Your distance, coins earned, and the track you ran (publicly visible)
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to detect spam and abuse. We never store your raw IP address in the database.
Sharing a score is always optional. Our legal basis for storing it is legitimate interest — running a public leaderboard and keeping it free of cheats and spam.
3. This Website
This site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party embeds. Standard web-server logs (which may include IP addresses) are kept by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes only.
4. Third-Party Services
If you download the game or make a purchase through an app store (such as Google Play or the Microsoft Store), that store processes your transaction under its own privacy policy. We don't see your payment details.
5. Security & Disclosure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what little data we hold — the leaderboard database lives outside the public web root. No internet service is perfectly secure, but there isn't much here to burgle.
We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. The only time we'd disclose it is if the law requires us to — and even then, all we really have is a nickname and a hash.
6. International Transfers
Depending on where our hosting provider's servers are, leaderboard data may be processed outside the UK. Where data-protection law requires it, appropriate safeguards (such as recognised adequacy arrangements or contractual protections) apply.
7. Children
Haywire Tractor is designed to be family-friendly and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only optional submission is a leaderboard nickname — we encourage parents to help kids pick something fun rather than their real name. In-app purchases are protected by a grown-ups-only hold-to-confirm gate.
8. Data Retention & Removal
Leaderboard entries are kept while the leaderboard runs. If you'd like a nickname or score removed, contact us and we'll take care of it.
9. Your Rights
Under UK data-protection law you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your personal data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability — a copy in a usable format
These rights are subject to applicable legal limitations and exceptions. In practice, what we hold is a nickname and some numbers on a leaderboard — just email us. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date shows the current version, and continued use means you accept it.
